JOURNEY TO HEAVEN

I was told of the steps to heaven 
I laughed, “How can that be ?”
“I can climb to heaven, a humble soul like me?”
Oh yes a map is given its right here in this Book

The Lord will help you find it, He’s lowly and He’s Meek!
His word will light the journeys way, the Spirit guides your feet!
“ It’s just the Holy Bible,” I said, “ seen these all my life!”
But as I read I understood. The stairway began to rise.

The first five steps so easy the way is crystal clear!
Hear HIS word, dear sinner! Believe with all your heart!
Repent, Confess you Saviors name to all who have a part.
The last step Baptism, washes you of sin!

The precious blood of JESUS is hidden within!
You’re in Christs’ Church now onward climb! Courage you must have. You must then be faithful unto death and don’t grow weak.
When things get rough you must look up or you will fall from grace!

Remember how He suffered? His life for us He gave!
As you climb those last steps, push on with labored breath!
Jesus will take your weary hand and lift you to his rest!
Hear, Believe, Repent, Confess, Water Baptism, faithful unto death
